Brattleboro
Many sustainable specialty boards are produced in our Brattleboro, Vermont facility, taking advantage of that site’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and energy conservation by:
- Burning up to 100% waste vegetable oil (WVO) to reduce the amount of traditional (fossil) fuel oil needed to power the facility
- Substituting secondary (recycled) fiber for virgin pulp in its products whenever possible
- Tapping into thermal hot springs in the colder months to reduce the amount of energy required to heat its boilers
- Equipping all the lights in the facility with automatic on/off capability
- Acquiring Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable Initiative Forestry (SFI) chain of custody certification
- Winning awards (i.e. NEEP ‘Business Leader for Energy Efficiency’ Award)
