FiberMark NEEP Award

On March 31st the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership (NEEP) recognized FiberMark as a “Business Leader for Energy Efficiency”.
This award process was set in motion by a nomination from Efficiency Vermont based on the continued energy-saving efforts that we’ve made at our Brattleboro plant. These energy-wise measures include a complete lighting retrofit, the installation of more efficient electric motors and drives, and upgrades to our compressed air systems.
Efficiency Vermont also noted the recent conversion of our boiler operations to run on up to 100% vegetable oil, and our ability to utilize this “green steam” to power our paper machine and heat the entire plant.
We were delighted and honored when we learned NEEP selected FiberMark as one of their 2010 Business Leaders, and we were equally proud when Jay Pilliod of Efficiency Vermont claimed FiberMark “walks the walk”.
Most importantly, we were inspired and impressed by all of the Business Leader honorees we met at NEEP’s annual summit. Please check out their stories, and learn for yourself what businesses across New England are doing to contribute to economic growth and reduce environmental impact.
