A Global Creative Hub

Located at 20 West 22nd Street, Suite 703, in New York City’s fashionable Flatiron District, FiberMark’s Manhattan Design Center showcases a library of the company’s richly textured and colored cover materials and the applications they have inspired.  The facility was designed to serve as an idea and innovation “incubator” of sorts for a wide range of professionals from the design, publishing and graphic packaging industries.  In essence, it is a meeting place for designers and others to sample FiberMark materials and share creative ideas for integration into their projects.

Designed by architect and furniture designer Roger Crowley, the Center’s beautiful interior mirrors the luxury and elegance of FiberMark products. In the Design Center, simple planar surfaces evoke the aesthetics of large sheets of paper—curved, folded and flat—and create a changeable gallery for the innovative designs set against them.  What’s more, the rich wood cabinetry and cork floor conjure pulp’s forest origin, a nod to FiberMark’s deep commitment to conservation through its increasing use of recycled materials.  Overhead, a spiral of tiny, jewel-like lamps illuminate the graceful curves of the shiny project mounts, highlighting an array of stepped wall shelves that serve as the primary display area for showcase pieces.  The centerpiece of the space is a 12–foot sculptural conference table designed by Crowley and fashioned from scrolling stainless steel and ivory white Corian carved in the evocative shape of a traditional binder’s bone.

Interested designers and other professionals in the Manhattan area are invited to visit and share their projects with FiberMark representatives, especially when seeking to integrate new decorative coverings and other materials into their work.  To aid in the design and specification process, the Center maintains a full sample library with access to sample sheets.
